In 2025, the volume of pipeline oil deliveries to refineries in Russia fell to its lowest level since 2010. Analysts attribute this to unscheduled shutdowns and repairs after "a series of external influences". This is reported by the newspaper "Kommersant".
Total volumes of oil pumped to refineries last year are estimated at 228.34 million tons. Year-on-year shipments decreased by 1.6%, but over the last 15 years this is the lowest value.
Total oil refining also decreased against this background - by 1.7% compared to 2024.
The experts surveyed by the publication attribute the decline in shipments to "unscheduled repairs at refineries" after "a series of external impacts". The largest number of such incidents was recorded in the second half of the year: from August to November, refineries received a total of 85.9 million tons of oil against 90 million tons in the same period of 2024.
Rosneft suffered the most - the load of its refineries decreased by almost 8%. For example, oil supplies to the Ryazan refinery fell by 34%.
Oil refineries become a frequent target of attacks by Ukrainian drones. Since the summer of 2025, drones as part of the DeepStrike strategy have been regularly striking Russian refineries at a distance of 500 kilometers or more from the border, hitting key primary refining units.
