All it takes is political will.
This was stated by Ukrainian military and political observer of the group "Information Resistance" Alexander Kovalenko, commenting on the US operation to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro:
- Everything happened quite quickly, as we can see. The preparations on the part of the United States took several months.
The overthrow of Nicolas Maduro had to take place not only through a military operation, but also with the help of internal agent networks that had been activated throughout this time.
It was perfectly clear to everyone that a military operation against Venezuela would take place. But in what format exactly? And in a format that would involve not only the armed forces of the United States, but also the internal protest element. And in Venezuela, as we know, the protest element was catalyzed long ago, several years ago.
What does this tell us? Venezuela is a vivid example of the fact that the United States, if there is such a desire, can prepare an operation to overthrow a dictator anywhere in the world - Iraq, Venezuela, it could be any other country. The main thing is desire and determination. But so far the United States is guided solely by its personal plans, the views of Donald Trump.
And the United States needs Venezuela not only as a democratic country, but also as a country that would provide them with oil products. Some may not know, but Caracas has the largest oil reserves in the world.
The United States, having control over these resources, will be able to drive other competitors out of the market. This is a very important task for them. That is why we can say that a special military operation was carried out in Venezuela, which took less than 24 hours.
- What's next for Venezuela?
- A change of power, the arrival of an opposition leader. There will be no serious resistance.
- There may be some pockets of resistance from Maduro's supporters, but I think it will be something at the level of localized guerrilla skirmishes.
