"Maduro Was Lifted Out Of Bed": Trump Watched The Dictator's Takeover Live On TV

New details of the US operation in Venezuela have emerged.

The US has published new details of the special operation to capture Venezuela's ruler Nicolas Maduro by the US Army's Delta Force special unit. Part of it was told by Donald Trump himself, part of it the media gave with reference to anonymous sources.

The US president said the special operation was so successful that none of the US military was killed.

"Amazing show"

Trump claims that he himself followed the operation virtually live, comparing what he saw to a "show."

"It was amazing," the US president shared his impressions on Fox News.

Nicolas and Flores Maduro could appear in a New York court as early as next Monday, January 5, News Nation reported, citing a senior U.S. source.

"They were taken to the ship by helicopter, they were taken away by helicopter, I'm sure they enjoyed it," Trump said.

The U.S. president said the military told him that no other country on Earth is capable of such a maneuver.

"Nobody has the equipment that we have. I mean, everything was thought out to the last detail. They practiced everything. They actually built a house that was identical to the one they went into, with all the safes, steel everywhere and stairs," Trump told Fox News.

The U.S. military action against Venezuela that captured the country's ruler, Nicolas Maduro, lasted less than 30 minutes, the Associated Press reported.

American spy in Venezuelan government and corruption

Many observers both in the U.S. and elsewhere, however, had a logical question - where was the Venezuelan military? Why did the Venezuelan army's air defense (air defense) allow U.S. helicopters to fly over the country's capital with impunity.

Expert Nick Janzen said on British television channel Sky News that he believes that on paper Venezuela has "robust air defense systems and locally distributed military, paramilitary and law enforcement forces in Caracas that should make such a raid difficult," but in practice it does not.

"Corruption, poor training, lack of maintenance and other factors greatly reduce this threat," he added. - Resistance to the assault has been more limited than might have been expected and may point to broader systemic failures, covert operations in support of the raid, or even some collusion with elements within the country."

The New York Times quoted sources as saying that there was at least one whistleblower within the Venezuelan government. Or perhaps the U.S. operation itself was part of a deal where Venezuelan officials simply traded their president for some guarantees.

According to the NY Post, a CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) informant in the Venezuelan government passed information to the U.S. that allowed the U.S. military to capture Nicolas Maduro.

"According to people familiar with the operation, a CIA source in the country's government tracked Maduro's location before he was captured by U.S. special forces," the publication said.

According to the newspaper, the CIA also relied on information from other contacts in Venezuela and data from drones to track the Venezuelan leader.

In the end, Nicolas Maduro and his wife were literally taken out of bed by US special forces at one of the special facilities, having previously blown up a metal door.

This information was confirmed in Venezuela itself. According to the chairman of that country's ruling party, Nahum Fernandez, Maduro and his wife were in their home on a military base when they were captured.

"We can do it again."

Trump, however, did not forget to compare the effectiveness of U.S. troops to Russia's actions in Ukraine.

"We could not miss the chance to do this incredible thing. We have to do it again, we can do it again. No one can stop us. There is no one with the capabilities that we have. When I watch this war in Russia going on and on and on, and everybody dying, it's primitive. It's primitive. It's horrible," Trump said.

What will happen to Venezuela?"

President Trump says the U.S. will not stand by and decide what happens next with Venezuela because it cannot allow someone from the outside to take Maduro's place.
