"Thousands Of French Soldiers": France Will Participate In The Restoration Of The AFU After The War

Macron revealed the details.

France may send thousands of its soldiers to Ukraine after the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war and will participate in the rebuilding of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The French contingent will not be involved in hostilities, French President Emmanuel Macron said, writes Le Monde.

"Thousands of French soldiers may be sent to maintain peace in Ukraine after the ceasefire. After the signing of the peace agreement, we want, firstly, to provide images and surveillance data (...), secondly, we will participate in the reconstruction of the Ukrainian army, and thirdly, we have demonstrated our willingness to be deployed as part of this multinational force," Macron said.

He clarified that these forces will not participate in hostilities.

"These are not forces that we are committing to participate in hostilities. These are security forces after the signing of the peace agreement," Macron said.

He said Turkey is ready to take responsibility for the maritime component of security guarantees for Ukraine, and the US will take the lead in monitoring the ceasefire after the peace agreement is signed.

In addition, Macron noted that in the coming weeks he will "reorganize contacts" with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Reminder, on January 6, Zelensky, Macron and Starmer signed a joint declaration on the deployment of Western forces in Ukraine after the war.
