Russia May Be Behind The Blackout In Berlin

The media is pointing to signs of a hybrid attack.

The aggressor country Russia may be behind the group whose diversion has left Berlin without heat and light. This is according to Welt.

Bundestag deputy from the Christian Democratic Party of Germany (CDU) Roderich Kiesewetter told the publication that a letter in which a left-extremist group claimed responsibility for the January 4 cable bridge arson was translated from Russian into German.

This is evidenced by errors in the text, and the 11-page document uses "strange language and unusual wording," he said.

Kiesewetter called the language of the letter "snaggy." Either left-wing extremists do not have a proper command of German or "they are being prescribed what they should say," he told reporters, noting that this version should be given attention.

Deputy Berlin police chief Marco Langner assured the media that "nothing points" to a Russian trail in the sabotage investigation. According to him, everything "very clearly" leads to German radicals, including the public confession. The investigation considers it genuine and points out that such letters are the typical handwriting of such organizations, the goals of the attack "also fit."

Artificial intelligence expert Andrea Schlueter said in a comment to the publication that "in some of the wording it is pretty certain that they were not originally composed in German."

At the same time, Stern journalist Miriam Hollstein points out the always rather confusing language in left-wing admission-of-responsibility letters.
