But there's still a condition.
U.S. President Donald Trump said he supports the sanctions bill against Russia drafted by lawmakers. But there is still a condition for support.
That is reported by Fox News.
In the course of the conversation, the host asked directly if Trump supports the sanctions bill. The US leader's response was as follows:
"I think there are 84 or 85 senators out there who want to... Yes (support - ed.), but only if he will be subordinate to me. And you know, I support it," Trump said.
Afterward, a reporter asked him again if he supported the bill, to which the president added:
"I hope we don't have to enforce it. We already have serious sanctions against Russia," he stated.
In addition, Trump emphasized that Russia's economy is in very bad shape right now. At the same time, he noted that it is a larger and more powerful country from this point of view in comparison with Ukraine.
We will recall that on Wednesday, January 7, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said that US President Donald Trump gave the green light to a bipartisan bill on sanctions against Russia.
