All the money will be donated to charity.

A luxurious Mercedes-Maybach S680, custom-designed for basketball player LeBron James, will be auctioned in New York on November 20–21, 2026. All proceeds from the sale will go toward supporting an educational program for children and families in Akron, the athlete’s hometown.

This was reported by Motor1.

The car will be the highlight of the first Retromobile New York auction, organized by Gooding & Christie’s. James ordered two nearly identical Mercedes-Maybach S680s through the Manufaktur Made to Measure program, which allows customers to create cars with custom colors, trim materials, and decorative elements. One car will remain with the athlete, while the other will be sold for charity.

The car features a light beige, ivory-colored body and a Stormy Weather Blue Nappa leather interior with contrasting porcelain-colored stitching. James’s personal crown logo is featured on the front fenders, headrests, dashboard, and floor mats. A crown emblem is also used in place of the standard V12 engine badge. The geographical coordinates of Akron are engraved on the center console.

Under the hood is a 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 621 k. s. The technical specifications of the car being auctioned match those of the one James will keep for himself.

Prior to the auction, the Mercedes-Maybach S680 will be on public display at Mercedes-Benz Manhattan from November 9 through 16, and then at the Javits Center from November 19 through 21.
