The 96-year-old "Oracle of Omaha" enjoys spending his time watching YouTube.

Warren Buffett , the former chairman of the board of directors of the American holding company Berkshire Hathaway, has taken to spending his evenings watching videos on YouTube since stepping down from his position. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

As Buffett’s friends told the newspaper, the 96-year-old investor watches videos on a large TV almost every evening while sitting in an armchair at his home in Omaha, Nebraska. According to them, he enjoys watching a wide variety of content: from videos featuring actress Glenn Close to 1950s commercials, speeches by strangers, and materials from Berkshire Hathaway, which he led until 2026.

Buffett’s close friend Sharon Osberg said he has “a very broad range of interests.” When Osberg visited the investor’s home in Omaha in August, they spent several hours together watching YouTube. According to her, they watched a documentary about politician Roy Kohn and episodes of the Uzbek version of “America’s Got Talent”—“O’zbekiston Got Talent.”

Buffett’s friends clarified that the content he watches is almost never related to investing or finance. Most often, the videos are about his long-standing passions: TV series, railroads, Nebraska, and Frank Sinatra’s early performances from the 1930s.

At the same time, those close to the investor noted that Buffett also enjoys watching television. According to them, while he spends his evenings on YouTube, his mornings are devoted to watching CNBC. Another of Buffett’s favorite channels is Turner Classic Movies, which airs classic feature films without commercials. In particular, it often shows “12 Angry Men,” which has long been a favorite of the investor.

Warren Buffett himself declined to comment to the WSJ on his YouTube viewing habits.

Warren Buffett ranks 10th on the Forbes billionaires list, with a net worth estimated at approximately $143.6 billion. He is one of the world’s most famous investors, widely known by the nickname “The Oracle of Omaha.”

Buffett had served as chairman of Berkshire Hathaway since 1970, but on September 18, 2026, he stepped down from that position, becoming chairman emeritus (an honorary title) while retaining his seat on the board of directors. His son, Howard Buffett, became the company’s new chairman.

Berkshire Hathaway is a major American holding company that owns companies and stakes in various industries, including insurance, energy, manufacturing, and the consumer sector.
