The enemy was hitting thermal power plants, thermal power stations, heating systems and just residential buildings.

On the night of February 3, Russian occupiers attacked facilities in eight regions of Ukraine, primarily heat generation facilities and high-rise residential buildings. This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy Denis Shmygal, writes unian.net.

"Another Russian crime against humanity, an attempt of winter genocide from Russian subhumans. Several types of ballistics and cruise missiles, as well as drones, have been struck: on multi-storey buildings and thermal power centers - thermal power plants and thermal power plants that worked exclusively in the mode of heating the districts in Kiev, Kharkiv and Dnipro," Shmygal said.

The official emphasized that after the so-called "energy truce", during which the enemy accumulated resources, the Russians waited for the harshest frosts and returned to their usual practice of terror against civilians.

"The targets are not military. Exclusively civilian: hundreds of thousands of families, including children, purposefully left without heat in the harshest winter frosts, when the temperature outside is -25 °C," - said Shmygal.

The night attack resulted in significant damage to thermal power plants in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Odessa. This was reported by a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services Sergey Nagornyak on air of the TV channel "Kyiv24".

"Russia hit Ukrenergo substations, which are responsible for the transmission of electricity and its distribution from nuclear power plants to the city of Kiev and the central part of Ukraine," the MP said.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Kuleba, more than a thousand residential houses were left without heat in Kiev alone. In Kharkiv, more than 100,000 people are without heating.

"Kiev. As a result of the strikes, more than 1,100 houses were left without heating, the most difficult situation - in Darnitsky and Dniprovsky districts. Water supply and drainage are provided to the residents of the capital. Kharkiv. Due to the attack of the Russian army, heat supply was temporarily suspended for 110,000 subscribers of the regional center. In addition, more than 15,000 subscribers in Lozovskyi district were left without heat," - said Kuleba.

The repair and restoration work is currently underway at the damaged facilities, added Deputy Prime Minister.
