The Council of the European Union has decided to allocate nearly 2.8 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.
The allocation of the next tranche became possible after the European Commission positively assessed the fulfillment of the conditions of Ukraine's Plan for the fourth quarter of 2025. The funds are provided within the framework of a large-scale four-year support program Ukraine Facility.
Sviridenko expressed gratitude to the people's deputies for the prompt adoption of the necessary laws.
As of the end of May 2026, the joint efforts of the government and parliament have already fulfilled 86 steps of the Plan of Ukraine, and 65 more are in the process of implementation.
"We continue to implement reforms together and move on the path of European integration. We are sincerely grateful to our European partners for their support and trust," - Head of the Government stressed.
The Ukraine Facility program is a key instrument of financial support for Ukraine in the conditions of war. The total budget of the initiative for 2024-2027 is 50 billion euros.
Including the new tranche, Ukraine has already received 26.8 billion euros of European aid since the start of this instrument in 2024.
