Syarhei Parsyukevich sentenced to 2.5 years in colony

Maskouski district court of Minsk sentenced the entrepreneurs’ leader Syarhei Parsyukevich to 2.5 years in a general regime colony. Moreover, the entrepreneur is to pay BR 1 mln 100 thousand of compensation. The sentenced was passed by judge Uladzimir Audzeyenka.

Attorney Siarhey Kunash demanded 3 years of general regime colony for Syarhei Parsyukevich.

Meanwhile, Syarhei Parsyukevich suffers from asthma. His health deteriorated badly during his stay in investigation isolation ward in Valadarski Street.

Syarhei Parsyukevich was arrested on March 4. The Vitsiebsk entrepreneur was detained for the alleged “violence against a militiaman.” Previously Syarhei Parsyukevich had been arrested for having taken part in the entrepreneurs’ protest rally held in Minsk and sentenced to 15 days of arrest which he had spent in the special distribution jail in Akrestsin Street. According to Syarhei Parsyukevich, he was beaten up violently by a militiaman Aliaksandar Dulub, an officer of the prison, on January 21. Later on this militiaman accused Syarhei Parsyukevich of having beaten him to avoid being charged himself for exceeding his commission.

Today in the court Syarhei Parsyukevich sweared on an icon with the life of his son, wife, and mother that he was not guilty and had never beaten the militiaman. Those who were kept in the same cell prove the entrepreneur’s testimonies. Aliaksandr Taustyka was one of them. Aliaksandr Taustyka said militiaman Dulub had burst into the cell, ordered everyone roughly to get up, hit Parsyukevich’s legs, taken him out of the cell, and everybody heard the entrepreneur’s screaming 10 minutes later: “Help me! They’re killing me!” Taustyka said Aliaksandar Dulub who is the victim in the case is afraid to bear responsibility for his actions and libelled on Parsyukevich.

That’s what Parsyukevich himself told about the event in Akrestsin prison. Officer Dulub came and ordered everybody to stand up. Paryukevich started to stand up. He was lying barefoot on the plank bed. Dulub hit him with a boot on a leg strongly. Parsyukevich said he was a retired militia officer, and made a remark to Dulub for the rude behaviour. After that Dulub rose to the window, torn off a self-made flag; threw the pieces of the flag to the place where Parsyukevich was lying. He told Parsyukevich to leave the cell and go to the room for interrogations. There the businessmen sat to a bench. Dulub entered and started to beat the prisoner on ears and head. Then Parsyukevich stood up, pushed him off and tried to stop the blows by seizing the officer’s hands. In that moment another militiaman, Yakimchyk, ran into the room. The two militiamen grabbed the prisoner, flung him to the floor and handcuffed him.

After that the most terrible thing started. Parsyukevich told that he was sitting on the floor handcuffed, and Dulub was beating him on the face, and kicking in the kidney area. After that Parsyukevich was taken bad. He was allowed to use inhaler and called up an ambulance.

Chairperson of the Council of entrepreneurs of “Smolenski market” of Vitsiebsk Syarhei Parsyukevich is a retired militia officer. He retired in 2004 as the head of the judicial and criminalistic department to start his private business.
