Brest authorities deceive the OSCE observers

OSCE observers reported an increase in the number of places for campaigning in the districts of Brest, but in fact their number remained the same.

As the “Human Rights Defenders for Free Elections” reported the officials of the Brest City Executive Committee and representatives of the Regional Election Commission gave a positive answer to the question of observers of the OSCE mission that they have increased the number of places for meetings of voters with presidential candidates in the Leninsky and Moscow districts of Brest.

Brest human rights defenders sent the appropriate address to the city council and regional commission.

But in a written reply that the applicants received, it is stated that places for campaigning determined by previous decisions remain the same.

“That is, there is no increase in the number of places. But observers from the OSCE were simply deceived by authorities,”- a human rights activist Uladzimir Vyalichkin says.
