Chief of Vilnius police does not believe in Bankauskas’ guiltiness

Kestutis Lancinskas, Chief of Vilnius County Police Headquarters, has learnt about the accident from Lithuanian journalists.

He also refuses to believe that Laimonas Bankauskas, Vilnius Mounted Police chief, was trafficking drugs. “Bankauskas is a very good policeman. I do not believe that he could have been smuggling drugs,” Kestutis Lancinskas said.

In an interview to journalists of “Lietuvos rytas” TV channel, Lithuania's Ambassador to Belarus Edminas Bagdonas said that he talked to members of the family of the arrested officer, the European Radio for Belarus reports.
