Gray exchange rate in over-the-counter currency market legalized

Belarusian authorities have lifted restrictions for exchange rate at the over-the-counter currency market in legal entities’ segment.

It has been said to journalists by First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB) Mikalai Luzgin, Interfax-Zapad reports.

Earlier the NBRB allowed the exchange rate for purchase and sale transactions on the interbank currency market to deviate from the official exchange rate by at most 10%. In the segment of transactions with individuals, the exchange rate in selling foreign currencies, as before, cannot differ from the official exchange rate by more than 2%.

“Since today the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble is no longer restricted for purchase and sales transactions between banks and economic operators,” M. Luzgin said.
