Pilipets’ deputy found dead

The investigatory Committee is carrying out an inspection on the fact of the death of the first deputy chairman of Homiel city executive committee.

The department of the Investigatory Committee for Homiel region is carrying out a pre-investigation inspection on the fact of the death of the former deputy chairman of Homiel city executive committee Anatol Chystsik.

“The former official was found dead today in the morning, hanging in a noose in his wife parents’ apartment”, - they told to Interfax at the department of the Investigatory Committee for Homiel region.

They noted that, in the opinion of investigative agencies, this death is not of a criminal nature, the main version for the incident is suicide.

“Currently inspective measure are being taken, aimed at identifying all the circumstances of the incident, including a motif for a suicide”, - they reported at the department of the Investigatory Committee for Homiel region.

On 5 July 2012 Anatol Chystsik was appointed the first deputy of Viktar Pilipets, who at the time was the chairman of Homiel city executive committee.

We would remind that in September 2012 officials of the department of capital construction of Homiel city executive committee, including Viktar Pilipets, were arrested. They used to distribute apartments at understated prices to their relatives and colleagues. According to KGB’s data, the officials of the department distributed 25 apartments in four blocks of flats with violations of the legislation in 2011. The apartments were initially intended for the citizens, whose houses were about to be torn down due to the seizure of the land for state’s purposes. The apartments were distributed among the officials of the department of capital construction, their relatives and acquaintances at prices several times lower than the market cost price of the accommodation.
