Attack on riot policemen in Mahilou

A man attacked three riot police officers with a knife in Mahilou on July 30.

The injured people are officers of a special task squad of the Mahilou police charter97.org learnt from a source.

“Three riot police officers were injured on July 30 in Mahilou. One of the policeman was stabbed in the groin, the second one in the neck and the third one in the stomach. They were off duty when the conflict took place. There are no official statements, but rumours appeared. It looks like continuation of the recent events in Moscow or like the result of incompetence of law-enforcement officers who can be defeated by one man,” the source says.

The press service of the Mahilou police department declined to comment on the information for charter97.org.

“Write an official request and we will consider it. I cannot give comments on the phone, because I don't know you and I am not authorised to do so,” a spokesperson said.

Mikalai Harelikau, the commander of the Mahilou special task squad, said to charter97.org that “the information hasn't been confirmed yet. The inquiry is being carried out, but there's no additional information.”
