Minsk Residents Asked To Refrain From Visiting Popular Recreation Spots For Two Days

What is the reason?

The green areas of the Frunzenski district, popular among Minsk residents, will be treated for ticks on April 29. On this day, as well as on April 30, Minsk residents are asked not to visit these territories, the administration of the Frunzenski district of the capital told БелТА.

Anti-tick measures will be carried out in Tivali Park, Miadzvezhyna Forest Park, in the green area along Panamarenka Street and in the green area within the boundaries of Semianiaka - Losika streets.

This year in the capital, the first tick bite was registered at the end of February in the forest belt near the 10th hospital. Based on long-term data obtained in Minsk, the peak population of ixodid ticks occurs in April - May.

More often, ticks attack in forests, rural areas and suburban summer cottages.
