Russia is losing the war.

The renowned American writer Yuri Felshtinsky, author of book on contemporary Belarusian history “Natalia Radina’s Belarus. A Journalist Against a Dictator," gave an interview to "Radyo Ratsia."

The website Charter97.org quotes several important excerpts from the conversation:
"Belarus finds itself in a very interesting situation. The fact is that by losing control over Belarus, Russia is losing the war with Ukraine.

I would emphasize that the simplest and quickest scenario for Russia’s defeat in this war is the liberation of Belarus from Lukashenko and, consequently, from Russian control,” says Yuri Felshtinsky.

The expert emphasizes that by losing control over Belarus, Russia loses a springboard from which it can “enter” Europe.

“If we’re talking about liberation and an opportunity for Belarus, that opportunity has already arisen in connection with the Russian-Ukrainian war. Belarus was used as a springboard. Ukraine won’t forget this, and there will be consequences for the Lukashenko regime”.

Felshtinsky notes that after 2022, it became clear to everyone that Belarus is the key to Europe’s security.

“If this key ends up in the hands of the EU and Belarus joins it, and after Trump leaves the White House, it will also join NATO, then this will mark the end of this entire unstable, largely unjust period of Belarusian history, when the country found itself under the dictatorship of the pro-Russian Lukashenko. I think this scenario is entirely realistic," said the writer.

He is confident that Lukashenko will be easily overthrown, and Belarus will become part of Europe after Ukraine’s victory.
