The tax inspectorate demands from the head of the Union of Poles this sum of money for the company, liquidated two years ago.

The tax inspectorate of Leninsky district of Hrodna intends to collect more than 117 million Belarusian rubles (about six thousand dollars) from head of the unrecognized by the authorities Union of Poles Angelika Borys.

It is said in a special letter of the deputy head of the tax office that Angelika Borys is to pay the debts of the company Polonica, liquidated two years ago. She is one of the founders of the company and used to be the leader of it.

According to Angelika Boris, such actions of the tax office are politically motivated.

“This is complete nonsense. But it often happens in Belarus that cases, which have already been closed, reappear a few years later. The power is always seeking to punish and shut the mouths of those people who lead an active social life. In recent years we have carried out a lot of activities to promote the Polish education in Belarus,” – Angelica Boris said in her comment to Radio Racyja.

The company Polonica was liquidate in 2014 by the decision of the Hrodna regional economic court in connection with the bankruptcy. The reason for the bankruptcy had become a large fine, which the company had received for cultural and educational activities.

We recall that in 2015 leader of the unrecognized by the authorities Union of Poles in Belarus Angelika Borys was repeatedly summoned to the Office of the Department of Financial Investigations of the Hrodna State Control Committee for acting on behalf of an “unregistered organization.”
