Taxes Have Risen Sharply For Entrepreneurs And Individuals In Minsk

The single tax rate has increased on average by 12% for individual entrepreneurs and other natural persons in Minsk.

BelTa informs, that the corresponding decision of the Minsk City Council of Deputies, adopted on December 21, 2016 at the session of the Minsk City council, was published today, December 19, 2017 on the National Legal Internet Portal.

In particular, the single tax rate for the retail trade of non-food products have increased by 8-11 Belarusian rubles, for catering – by 15 Belarusian rubles, for providing hairdressing services – by 10 Belarusian rubles, for providing repair services and maintenance of cars – by 21 rubles, for construction services – by 12 rubles. The monthly tax rate has increased by 4 rubles (up to 34 rubles) for private tutors, by 21 rubles (up to 194 rubles) for furniture manufacturers, designing furniture by the orders of the consumers, by 17 rubles (up to 160 rubles) for taxi drivers, by 11 rubles (up to 103 rubles) for photographers (except events movie shooting), by 17 rubles (up to 157 rubles) for individual entrepreneurs providing health care services, including dental services.

The decision enters into force after its official publication.

As the inspection of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties in Minsk has noted, prior to the publication of the document has been publically discussed at a meeting with the chairmen of councils of market sole traders, shopping malls and individual entrepreneurs working in the service provision sector. Comments and proposals of business representatives were included in the final document.

At their request, such shopping facilities as "Pdzemnyi Gorod", "Zerkalo", "Parking", "Passazh" were excluded from the list of shopping facilities, where the higher tax rates are applied. At the same time such shoppong malls as "Galileo" and "Skala" were included in the list. Shopping malls "Kupalovskii" and "Schastje" were included in the list with the lower tax rate.

The need for adoption of such decision has arouse because more than 45% of the single tax rates applied in the capital, do not correspond to the rates established by the Tax Code for 2017. In addition, the new edition contains certain tax liable activities performed by individual entrepreneurs and physical persons not engaged in entrepreneurial activity. Such activities as "Cleaning of vehicles", " Services of Domestic Workers" were excluded from the list, while such activities as "Design and maintenance of landscape areas" and "Drilling of water wells" were included in the list.

Last time single tax rate collected in Minsk from individual entrepreneurs and other natural persons were increased by decision of Minsk City Council of 29 March 2016. Then they have grown by 15% on average.
