Lukashenka To Shunevich: I Will Double Funding For Interior Ministry

The dictator has advised the head of the Interior Ministry not to hesitate in raising salaries and buying official property.

According to the press service of the Belarusian ruler, Lukashenka said this during a work meeting with the Minister of Internal affairs of Belarus Ihar Shunevich.

In 2016, Lukashenka was reported on the results of the internal affairs bodies’ activities, the planned organizational and practical measures aimed at improving the efficiency of the activities of the Ministry of Interior. A separate topic of the report was how to optimize the structure of the Ministry.

"We are not to avoid this. You report to me constantly that the crime situation is improving, it means we have to be on a course for gradual reduction, but not for a thoughtless one, we have to optimize the structure", – Lukashenka said.

The dictator said that would remain on the department’s balance. "Please, rise the salaries, buy office property, weapons and so on. It will continue this way: all that you save will remain with you. Plus I will double that figure and add. If you save 10 million, you will receive 20 million – 10 million of the savings and 10 million from the budget. So you should be interested in it, but not at the expense of the service. There should not be reduction for the sake of optimization. Moreover, it is impossible to offend decent people in the police. If they deserve to continue their service and in-demand, hence, they are to be kept. Those, who does not want to or cannot draw their duty, must leave. So the optimization is to be reasonable."
