Tax Officials List 40 Thousand More Belarusians As “Social Parasites”

Tax inspectorates continue sending out “letters of happiness”.

The tax authorities have sent over 440 thousand notifications informing the citizens they are supposed to pay the fee for financing the state expenses for the year 2015. 34,1 thousand citizens have paid the fee as of January 23, 2017. Br 10,2 million came to the budget from the fee payers, BELTA reports.

"We stress out that, upon receipt of the notification on payment of the fee, a citizen has a right to provide the documents and/or clarifications which confirm they have no obligation to pay the fee,” – the tax authorities inform.

The citizens can inform the tax inspectorates about their right not to pay the fee either by a personal visit to the tax inspectorate or sending there clarifications and/or documents electronically. This can be done with the help of the service “E-address” at the ministry’s website.

The information on the categories of citizens, freed from payment of the fee for financing of the state expenses, has been published at the ministry’s website in the section “Fee for financing of state expenses”.

Important to note, the Outraged Belarusians’ March with a demand to abolish the “social parasites” decree will start at 6 p.m. on February 17 in the Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.
