What were Belarusian security services engaged in yesterday?

Photos of the "heroes" of yesterday's incident that happened during the briefing the OSCE representative at the negotiations of the tripartite contact group on settlement of the situation in Donbas surprisingly reminiscent of the photos of the "hero" of the tragedy in Istanbul when the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov was killed during the opening of the exhibition .

Fiery eyes, raised hands, pathos ... Could the Russian National Bolsheviks, who have penetrated to the press conference, start shooting as well? They could. Could it end in tragedy? It could.

Tripartite negotiations on Donbas issue in Minsk are not just international negotiations. It is the talks about war and peace, about the dead and missing, about the living and the dead, about the fate of nations. It is the talks about the tragedy, it is the intensity of emotions - political and human. Some really can lose their nerve. There really may happen provocations. Everything can happen here. But what were Belarusian security services engaged in yesterday? They were busy not letting some Afghan War veterans to lay flowers at the monument to those who died on that terrible Afghan war. It was a miracle that the yesterday's press-conference didn't turned to be a bloody tragedy. Because it is well known that there are many who want to splash gasoline on the smoldering conflict. The God has saved. The randomness has saved. The providence.

Those were not the security services who saved Minsk from the repetition of the Istanbul tragedy yesterday. Our security services knew nothing, suspected nothing and were not able to do anything.

Donbass. War. It hurts. It bleeds. It blows the brains. It provokes madness.

But our security services are at a complete peace of mind. But there's a big nix and excitement arranging so that near the monument on the Island of Tears don't meet the assumed Viktar Sheiman and Aleh Vouchak. Because the Afghan War veteran Sheiman will feel uncomfortable if the Afghan War veteran Vulchak is somewhere nearby.

Or Autukhovich or Kamarouski, or not Sheiman ... It does not matter.

It was ok to fight together, but to lay flowers to the monument together is not possible now. Every year when the anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan comes, a "special operation" is required to prevent the co-laying of flowers. The security services work, do their best, everybody is busy, all resources are involved. But they are absent where there's a real need for them.

So, as long as the hierarchy of priorities of our security services is displaced, as long as the chase political opponents of the current regime in the first instance, and only then, on a residual basis, keep track of the real threat, so be it.

Only a miracle was saving. Only a miracle will save.

It's time to admit, finally, that the political opposition is not a threat to the state. Opposition, an alternative opinion, a public discussion, and even a peaceful protest – these are not a threat. This is good for the state. This is a mistake preventing tool. This a constraint, this is a balance.

But there are threats. And that's what they should deal with.

By the way. Provocateurs came to the press conference of the OSCE Representative with certificates of journalists of Russian World. Let me remind, that this project is headed by the native of Belarus Eduard Eidzin. This is the same man who once invented the notorious "market socialism" for Belarus – the concept of beating around the bush, crossbreeding the grass snake and hedgehog, eating away of resources instead of developing. And I can assure you that Eidzin was well aware that on the day when our government divides the Afgan War veterans on right and wrong, especially on the eve of the Outraged Belarusians March, there will be no one to prevent this provocation. Just no one.
