Lukashenka’s Executive Secretariat seized “Paritetbank” from the National Bank.

Deputy Head of Lukashenka’s Executive Secretariat Nadzeya Katkavets has become the Chairperson of the “Paritetbank” Supervisory Board. This information has been published at the website of the credit organization.

Her deputy is Vadzim Drazhyn, who works as the head of the information-analytical department of management and analytical support of the state organization “Chief Economic Administration” of the Presidential Executive Secretariat (PEC). Two more top managers of the PEC joined the Supervisory Board of “Paritetbank”.

In 2014, the Presidential Executive Secretariat obtained almost 55% of “Paritetbank” shares. The remaining package belongs to the National Bank. As tut.by found out, in late 2016 the PEC became the owner of 99,5% of “Paritetbank” shares.

Recently, Andrei Bryshtaleu was trusted with “Belinvestbank”, and “Partitetbank” stayed without the head of the board. “The PEC got the bank under the total control and saw no sense in prolongation of the cooperation with someone who used to work for the National Bank,” — the source has claimed.

“They replaced the head of the board, changed the Supervisory Board this month, and there are rumours they have some big plans with regard to the development of the bank,” — another interlocutor has added.

Previously, the Belarusian authorities considered selling of “Paritetbank” to a strategic investor.

"Paritetbank" is the successor of the bank "Poisk", which was established in January 1991 on the basis of the State Bank of the USSR upon the initiative of the large enterprises of Minsk. Until 1998 it was one of the six largest banks in Belarus.

In 1999, due to the poor state of the credit portfolio, the bank faced liquidity problems, and soon the controlling stake moved to the National Bank. After 5 years, the bank was renamed into "Paritetbank", and the National Bank became the main owner.

The normative capital of “Paritetbank” amounted to Bn 91,3 million as of early 2017.
