Mikalai Statkevich: We Have Plan

One of the BNC leaders urged people to get ready for Freedom Day in Minsk.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress Mikalai Statkevich urged people to get ready for Freedom Day which is to be held in Minsk on March 25, and asked organizers in other cities of Belarus not to held any rallies in regions on that day.

Mikalai Statkevich said this in an interview with Radio Svaboda.

"The issue to be settled in Minsk. Everyone should be here on March 25. If some tens of thousands come, then we will go to the regions on March 26. We will participate and make speeches there together then. And if more people participate on March 25 than I hope, then, maybe, people won't want to leave. Then, we will need actions in the regions even more. People will be able to go on with peaceful protest. There's a lot of responsibility in the current situation. We should come down hard on the regime to force it to give in to people. But at the same time we should prevent any possibility of foreign intervention. We should keep to a common plan. We have it. We are working according to it. Trust us!" – Mikalai Statkevich said.

We remind you, that the many thousands Outraged Belarusians March was held in Minsk on February 17. During the March people formulated their requirements to the authorities and they will demand the answers from the regime in Minsk on Freedom Day , March 25.

Similar protests were held in regional cities of Belarus on February 19. The March in Homel was the most numerous one with several thousand people participating.

On Sunday, February 26, several thousand of outraged Belarusians took to the streets and participated in the Marches in Vitsebsk and Babruisk, several hundreds of people participated in marches in Baranavichy and Brest.
