Statkevich's Life Is In Danger!

Poet Uladzimir Niakliaeu demands that the authorities should immediately report where the leader of the BNC is.

Member of the Council of the Belarusian National Congress Uladzimir Niakliaeu, who is in hospital now, contacted Charter97.org and made a statement about the fate of the missing politician Mikalai Statkevich.

"Freedom for Mikalai Statkevich! Freedom for all Freedom Days detainees!”

For more than three days, no one knows where Mikalai Statkevich is. What is happening with him? Is he alive? The practice, that the government uses against him, is called state banditry. Such methods are used by the dictatorial, criminal regime.

I am sure that they are fabricating a criminal case against Statkevich. I state this on the basis of what happened last night with me. Among my papers, there was a document in Polish and they tried to present it as something that could harm the national security of Belarus.

I demand the immediate release of Statkevich. I demand that his family should be immediately informed on his whereabouts. I demand from the authorities (knowing how difficult it was for my wife, my children in 2010) to report whether a person is alive or he was killed.

As for the families of those non-humans who do this to Statkevich today, I do not want even them to experience this.

Freedom to Statkevich! Freedom to political prisoners!”
