Foreign Ministry: Lithuanian Plane Violated State Border Of Belarus

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry has presented a note to the Lithuanian Ambassador in Minsk.

On April 22, 2017, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Belarus Andrius Pulokas was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.

The official website of the Foreign Ministry informs that during the meeting the head of the Lithuanian diplomatic mission was handed a note with the Belarusian side’s protest in connection with the recorded fact of violation of the state border of the Republic of Belarus by the Lithuanian aircraft.

The violation of the State border from outside of the Republic of Lithuania was recorded on April 19, 2017, at 13.00. The aircraft flew over the territory of Belarus to a distance of 8 km and at 13:43, having turned back, left the airspace of our country. During the time, the plane was over Belarus, it was being controlled by the air defence facilities.

As it is stressed in the note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Belarusian side expects explanations regarding the incident.
