Chernobyl Liquidator Attacked In Yelsk

The activist of an international organization of liquidators came from Kalinkavichy to Yelsk to visit his old mother.

Doctors of the district hospital in Yelsk had to suture from inside the injured upper lip of Chernobyl liquidator, disabled person of group II Vasil Siliaviorst, to stop the blood, Radio Svaboda informs.

"I came to Yelsk from Kalinkavichy to visit my old mother, – Vasil Siliaviorst says. – I was on my way back. On the way to the station I entered a grocery store and queued up. And then a man, who was about forty years old, ran up to the seller without a queue. I made a comment – how so? He asked: "Who are you?" I answered: "A chernobyl liquidator, an invalid." Well, here the stranger started the fight."

Siliaviorst adds that as soon as he came to himself, he called the police. He wrote a statement that the attack was not accidental. This was a special provocation on the eve of the anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant and the Chernobyl Way in Minsk.

This year, Vasil Siliaviorst has been elected deputy chairman of the international organization Chernobyl-Belarus Union, registered in Ukraine.
