The action starts at 6 pm, near the Oktyabr film theatre, Minsk.

Activists of Dvizh Basta community deliver seven reasons to take part in the demonstration.

1. On the personal instructions of Lukashenka, Belarusian tables will be covered by vegetables, milk and meat from areas that have been declared unfit for life in the Soviet period (Bragin, Khoyniki, Khotsimsk, etc.). The authority just poisons Belarusians by radiation.

2. According to mandatory program, young specialists have to work there and be subject to a great health risk.

3. In 1986 1/3 of the territory of Belarus was subject to various degree of radiation pollution. However, most of state programmes aimed at assistance to the population of the contaminated territories were closed down by Lukashenka. In addition, Belarus has a duty on foreign humanitarian assistance, which prevents foreigners from providing sufficient support to Belarusians.

4. During the entire period of his reign Lukashenka has consistently fought with victims of the accident-various benefits and other forms of assistance were gradually abolished. In 2009 Belarusian liquidators of the Chernobyl accident were deprived of almost all benefits, in 2013 the status of the Chernobyl liquidator was officially abolished.

5. In 2011 the construction of the Belarusian NPP was started. The nuclear reactor was ordered from the Russian plant Atommash, which has not produced a single aggregation over the last 30 years, a Belarusian project is experimental for it.

6. In December 2016, when transportation to the Astravets, the replaced vessel collided with a power transmission line support. The second replacement of the vessel was rejected. The Belarusian authorities also do not allow specialists from international atomic organizations to the construction site, which makes an objective assessment of the security of the future station impossible.

7. The Chernobyl Way is an annual (since 1989 year) day of solidarity with those who suffered from the greatest man-made disaster in human history. As a result of the Chernobyl accident, radioactive substances emitted into the atmosphere 300 times exceeded those emitted after the atomic bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima. Our people took the brunt of the radiation. Participation in this action is the civic duty of every conscious Belarusian.

The Chernobyl Way-2017 will be held on April 26, Minsk. The march starts at 6 pm, near the Oktyabr film theatre. The action is authorized by the Minsk City Executive Committee. Flags, banners, and other merchandise are allowed.
