The Minsk court fined the human rights activist for participation in the rally of solidarity on March 26.

The consideration of the administrative case against the human rights defender Tatsiana Reviaka continued in the court of Tsentralny District of Minsk on April 26, the Viasna HRC reports.

The meeting has been postponed twice, but today Judge Viktoryja Shabunia was able to push the matter through.

On April 26, Viasna lawyer Nastassia Laiko appeared in court as a witness of the detention. The monitoring report of the observers about the peaceful protest, held on March 26, was attached to the materials of the case.

As a result of the hearing, Judge Viktoryja Shabunia found Tatsiana Reviaka guilty and convicted the human rights defender to a fine of 20 basic units – 460 rubles ($ 230).

Let us remind you that Tatsiana Reviaka was detained on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk on March 26, and, together with other detainees, was taken to the police department of Tsentralny District of the capital where for a long time she was kept in harsh conditions, in the courtyard, facing the wall, with his hands up.

Later it became known that police officers had drawn up two protocols against the human rights defender: under article 17.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (petty hooliganism) and 23.4 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus (disobedience to the lawful request of an official). Protocols were not presented to the human rights activist and she did not sign them.

Tatsiana Reviaka sent a complaint to the Minsk city prosecutor's office in connection with her arbitrary detention on Kastrychnitskaya Square on March 26 and cruel treatment at the Tsentralny District police department, where she was taken after her detention. She has not received an answer yet.
