Lukashenka Gave Arab Sheikhs One Thousand Hectares Of Land In Minsk

It's become known what they're going to build there.

Yesterday, Lukashenka met with Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum. Among other things, he discussed the creation of an international financial center in Minsk with the help of the UAE. The tut.by portal has found out where this facility can be located.

Now Lukashenka is visiting the United Arab Emirates. According to the dictator's press service, he met with the UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, ruler of the Dubai Emirate Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum.

- In particular, they discussed promising projects in transport, logistics and finance. They include the creation of an international financial center in Minsk with the help of the Emirate side. Currently, the concept of this project is being prepared, - Lukashenka's press service informed.

According to several well-informed sources, the northern bank of Svislach near the reservoir of Drazdy is considered as the main site for the financial center. The approximate boundaries of the site look like this:

It is assumed that the financial center will have not only business, entertainment and tourist facilities, but also an international exhibition center. "It will be the largest investment project. The area is up to one thousand hectares", - one of the portal's interlocutors says.

Now the Arab investors are preparing the project of the complex, which will eventually land on Lukashenka's desk. He will have the last word, because the ruler's decrees are necessary to implement such a project.

First of all, it will be necessary to make changes to the General Plan of Minsk in order to take out of circulation the arable land, on which they want to build the financial center. Secondly, a different tax regime is usually established for such projects.

It should be noted that Sheikh Mohammed has controlled the creation of a large number of transnational business projects, including the construction of the highest building in the world - Burj Khalifa. Mohammed owns two multi-profile conglomerates - Dubai World and Dubai Holding, which are engaged in construction, finance, tourism, telecom, transportation and logistics.
