– He started to have heart problems after the 2001 elections. At that time, he even had an operation done in Krakow, Poland, but in recent years, as far as I know, he felt good – he went in for sports, followed a healthy lifestyle, – Aliaksandr Milinkevich says.

According to him, the farewell to Domash will take place in Hrodna on Monday.

Siamion Domash participated in the 2001 campaign. Then, 17 people were nominated for candidates for the presidency of Belarus. Among them were ex-defense minister Pavel Kazlouski, actor Yauhen Kryzhanouski, daughter of the former head of the BSSR Natallia Masherava, chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front Zianon Pazniak and others. The opposition decided to nominate a single candidate. Five people applied for the place: Uladzimir Hancharyk, Siamion Domash, Siarhey Kaliakin, Pavel Kazlouski and Mikhail Chyhir. It was difficult to choose one; therefore, two opposition candidates were registered with the CEC: Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Uladzimir Hancharyk and former Chairman of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee Siamion Domash. A few days before the election, Domash withdrew his candidacy in favor of the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions, Uladzimir Hancharyk.

At one time, Siamion Domash served as chairman of the Hrodna Regional Executive Committee and the regional Council of Deputies, was a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus.

After the 2001 elections, he long headed the Hrodna leather tanning industry, in 2014, he quit his post. For a while, he refused to talk about the new job, a lot of people thought that he had retired. In recent years, he worked as one of the leaders of the Hrodna-based ABC enterprise engaged in food production.
