A criminal case against Andrei Vtyurin, Deputy Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic and former chief bodyguard of the ruler Aliaksandr Lukashenka, is opened in Belarus. He was arrested a week ago and is suspected of bribe-taking of $150 thousand.

He's also officially detained for corruption, but unofficially for giving access to all communication channels and traffic control to Russia. It happened when, as the technical director of the main Belarusian carrier operator, Sivadzedau initiated a cross-border transfer of fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) with the Russian company Synterra. It is noteworthy that "independent" telegram-channels working for the Kremlin present it as if Lukashenka is in panic because a part of the elite is so tired of the dictator that is ready to take the side of Russia. Meanwhile, there is a version according to which Vtryurin both conducted separate negotiations with Moscow, and prepared an assassination attempt on stubborn Lukashenka, who does not want to help Putin solve the problem of retaining power after 2024.

Russian sociologist Igor Eidman voiced this version on his Facebook page.

"Deputy Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic, former chief bodyguard of Lukashenka, is arrested, according to several sources, for an assassination attempt on his boss", Eidmann writes.

Rosbalt and Lenta.ru refer to sources in the law enforcement agencies of Belarus, saying that "Andrei Vtyurin was detained for activities in interests of the FSB and the Federal Security Service of Russia".

Vtyurin graduated from the Saratov Higher Military Academy of the Russian Interior Ministry.
