Hrodna Physicians Made Appeal

The doctors are demanding the release of political prisoners and the holding of new elections.

Hrodna doctors have recorded a video message demanding to recognize the presidential elections as rigged and to hold new ones. The doctors say they are against violence and repression, as well as constitutional reform, tut.by reports.

The Hrodna doctors also demand to hold accountable those who have participated or are involved in torture and ill-treatment of civilians, and advocate, among other things, putting an end to any harassment of alternative opinions and statements. The doctors demand to release immediately those recognized as political prisoners and all those illegally detained during peaceful protests of citizens.

- We, the medical workers of the city of Hrodna, like most other citizens, cannot stay away from the events taking place in our beloved country.

Like most Belarusians, we have to look with pain and disappointment at what is happening now in Belarus, where laws created for people have suddenly started to work against them, where every day people in masks and balaclavas openly abduct people in the streets without introducing themselves, and for two months, we have been learning more and more details about the brutal treatment of citizens of our country, including our colleagues, where every day we learn about dozens and hundreds of absurd criminal cases and cases of administrative violations against innocent citizens, - the doctors say. - We want to express our solidarity with people of other professions who are not afraid to express their opinions; all citizens of our country who, like us, want to get protection of their rights and compliance with the law. We are tired of being afraid.
