Ex-Host of Kalykhanka Received Nine days of Arrest for Standing up for a Woman

Aliaksandr Zhdanovich was in Zhodzina from the moment of his arrest.

The famous Belarusian actor Aliaksandr Zhdanovich, known to thousands of Belarusians as Malyavanych from the Kalyhanka children show, was detained on November 8 in Minsk. Today, November 11, he received nine days of arrest, writes tut.by.

Zhdanovich has been in Zhodzina since his arrest.

So far, there is no information about the article he was charged with.

An eyewitness Daniel told about the circumstances of Zhdanovich's detention. Aliaksandr Zhdanovich was detained on 8 November around 12.30 on Peramozhtsau Avenue.

Aliaksandr and Daniel were walking along the sidewalk together.

- There were about 15 paddy wagons near the Galleria. Riot policemen were standing on the sidewalk. Seeing them, Zhdanovich took out a wooden cross from the bag, began to bless them and pray. We have already passed by all the riot policemen when we saw one of them was shouting at a woman. Aliaksandr approached him with a cross and asked politely not to yell. After these words, the riot policeman ordered two others to twist the actor's hands and took him to the bus.

An hour and a half later, around 2 pm, Zhdanovich called a friend and told that he was in the building of the Partizanski police department. He added he had been treated fine and not beaten. After that, he hung up the phone and did not answer any calls.

It is symbolic that on November 8, five years passed since the death of Aliaksandr's wife.
