Yury Zakharanka's Daughter: I Believe Harauski's Words

During the meeting with Alena Zakharanka, the former SOBR fighter swore he was telling the truth.

A meeting between former SOBR fighter Yury Harauski, who in mid December confessed his involvement in the high-profile political assassinations, and the daughter of disappeared Yury Zakharanka was held in Switzerland, where Harauski is hiding.

Their conversation, which was published by Deutsche Welle, was organized by the Zurich newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

Harauski described the surveillance: "We'd just come to the house and watched where who would be placed. We were watching, checking his arrival time, how long it took him to get from the parking lot to the house. Ten minutes. We were supposed to manage in those 10 minutes. But the very moment of your father's detention, his loading into the car - it was 20-30 seconds."

Alena Zakharanka confessed that "for a long time I thought that my father had been dismembered, cut into pieces", but the former SOBR officer assures that this is not true, the fighters just did not have time for it.

"It took about four or five hours for everything to happen. "It took about four or five hours for everything to happen. Do you think it would be possible to kill him, burn the body, come to the base within that time? When were we supposed to torture your father? And what were we supposed to find out?" - he asks his questions, and assures that they never heard of any damaging information against Lukashenka.

Harauski said that no one looked into the eyes of the victims: "He was put face down. He was shot in the back, your father as well as Hanchar and Krasouski. They were all shot in the back."

The ex-minister's daughter asked if the killers were aware of the suffering experienced by the families of those missing? The interlocutor replied that "I heard about your grandmother, about what they wrote about her. But I wasn't keeping a close watch on it."

Harauski does not rule out that if at the time of the arrest, Zakharanka and his wife were together, then what happened would have happened.

At the meeting, the former Special Forces officer swore "by health of the daughter" that he was telling the truth.

He also repeated what he had said earlier that he was ready to be tried for the crimes committed and to be punished, but in Europe, not in Belarus.

After the conversation, Harauski confessed that he was "like a sucked orange": "I understand that I am, one can say, the murderer of their father, husband, son. I did not say that I had watched the video in the media how their grandmother went to the cemetery and was talking about her son: "I don't know where you are, what you are." I saw it all."

In turn, Zakharanka noted that in the eyes of the interlocutor she saw "an infinite sense of guilt from his side".
