Security Officials Rat the Cockroach Out

New high-profile materials on the crimes of the regime in Belarus will be published soon.

The National Police of Ukraine released data on the Belarusian special services' involvement in the murder of journalist Pavel Sheremet, who was blown up on July 20, 2016, in a car in Kyiv.

The conclusions were made on the basis of audio recordings and documents dated 2012, which were at the disposal of Ukrainian law enforcement officers.

Ukrainska Pravda reports that the audio recording was made by a hidden device in April 2012. However, you can make out the voice of the head of the Belarusian KGB Vadzim Zaitsau, who then headed the Committee. The tape allegedly shows him instructing his subordinates from the Alpha counter-terrorist unit on how to remove Sheremet. It's about planting the bomb.

At that time, Pavel Sheremet was already living in Russia. However, the Belarusian security forces still considered the journalist a big problem for Lukashenka. On the same recording, it is allegedly about the organization of the murders of several more Belarusian citizens. In particular, the ex-commander of the special forces brigade, the former head of the Interior Ministry's anti-corruption department, and the former head of the pre-trial detention center in Minsk are mentioned. All of them at that time could be in Europe.

The reliability of this information was commented on by the Belarusian political scientist Dzmitry Balkunets:

- I think that these records are absolutely reliable information. The leakage that took place and was published, in my opinion, shows that Lukashenka is also the ordering party of the murder of Sheremet, committed in Kyiv and still not investigated.

The leakage of compromising evidence confirms the information that Pavel Sheremet was really a "thorn" for Lukashenka. And he became a "thorn" back in 1997 when Boris Yeltsin intervened in the release of Sheremet from prison. Then Lukashenka shouted at every corner that Pavel Sheremet was the main enemy of Russian-Belarusian relations.

Pavel Sheremet has shot many films dedicated to the events in Belarus. In particular, about the disappearance of famous politicians. He wrote a book called "The Accidental President," where he described how Lukashenka came to power.

- Of course, all this played against Pavel, - says Dzmitry Balkunets. - By the way, I will remind you that Lukashenka, when he learned that Pavel Sheremet had received Russian citizenship, illegally deprived him of his Belarusian citizenship by his closed decree. However, Pavel was originally a citizen of Belarus by birth. There were many such episodes.

According to Dzmitry Balkunets, this information was leaked not by the Ukrainian special services but by the Belarusian security forces or the people involved in them.

"This is not the first leakage from the Belarusian law enforcement agencies," says the expert. "And he only testifies that the security officials (even those who work in the Belarusian KGB) are ratting Lukashenka out, as they do not see him as a politician who has a future in Belarus. Therefore, I think that even louder materials related to the Lukashenka regime's crimes will be made public soon.

As the Belarusian political scientist emphasizes, from the materials that were transferred to Ukraine, it follows that the Belarusian KGB, apparently, was engaged in surveillance of the citizen of the Russian Federation Pavel Sheremet already on the territory of Russia, which is unacceptable within the framework of the Russian-Belarusian agreements. The Belarusian special services have no right to conduct operational search activities on the territory of Russia, as well as the Russian special services - on the territory of Belarus. This is prohibited by law.
