Criminal Case Initiated Against Tut.by, Site Blocked

The official comment of the State Control Committee has been released.

This morning, the law-enforcers of the FID came to the office of tut.by, the editors of the edition and to the editorial office of av.by. The State Control Committee told BelTA that a criminal case had been initiated. Officials of the portal are allegedly accused of "tax evasion".

"On May 18, a criminal case was initiated against officials of TUT BY MEDIA under Part 2 Article 243 of the Criminal Code (evasion of taxes and fees on a large scale)," - the SCC informed.

The tut.by website is currently blocked.

The co-founder of tut.by, Kiryl Valoshyn, has confirmed that the portal's domain is blocked in Belarus.
