They reminded about the fate of Andrzej Poczobut and Andżelika Borys.

July 25 marks four months since the arrest of one of the leaders of the Union of Poles in Belarus, a journalist from Hrodna, Andrzej Poczobut. He is being held in a pre-trial detention center in Zhodzina near Minsk. The chairman of the Union of Poles in Belarus, Andżelika Borys, is also imprisoned there, reports Polskie Radio.

Andrzej Pisalnik, editor-in-chief of the SPB portal Znadniemna.pl, said that the members of the Union of Poles of Belarus in Poland organized pickets of solidarity with Poczobut and Borys on July 25. They were held in Warsaw, Bialystok, and Sopot: "Members of the Union of Poles of Belarus, who are currently in Poland, take to the streets to remind passers-by and the media about the fourth month of being in prison for Andżelika Borys and Andrzej Poczobut and that Poles in Belarus are still persecuted."

The Lukashenka regime accuses Andrzej Poczobut and Andżelika Borys of allegedly inciting ethnic hatred, for which they face imprisonment for up to 12 years. In particular, the Lukashenka regime accuses the Belarusian Poles of perpetuating the memory of the soldiers of the Polish Armia Krajowa and other persons who fought for independent Poland in the ranks of the anti-communist underground after World War II.
