Prime Minister Of Lithuania: Lukashenka Is Coward And Traitor
INGRIDA SHIMONITE

The West must not forget the struggle of the Belarusians.

Despite the war in Ukraine, the West should not forget the other "unfinished battles" and will continue to support the Belarusians fighting for their rights. This was stated by Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Shimonite at the International Forum of Kastus Kalinouski in Vilnius.

"Today, the Belarusian dictator, a coward, has not only imprisoned or expelled free citizens of his country. He has finally and irrevocably betrayed his people. He has made Belarus - not the real one, but the one, which he is trying to hold in his fist - an ally of the Kremlin's aggression and a base for Russia's war against Ukraine," delfi quoted Shimonite.

According to the Lithuanian Prime Minister, Belarus wants to become a free and democratic country, so the West must help it to achieve this goal.

"Therefore, the mission of a democratic Belarus is now even more important. And it is even more important for all of us, when supporting Ukraine and its freedom, not to forget all those who strive for freedom and democracy in Belarus. The Western world has long talked about the price of fundamental democratic values and freedom, and now it has an opportunity - and an obligation - to show that this is more important than material comfort and conventional schemes. We have such an obligation to Ukraine, but we cannot forget about this obligation to the freedom of Belarus," the Prime Minister of Lithuania said.
