Before the de-occupation of the Kharkiv region, the traitors fled with their families to the territory of the Russian Federation. There they continued to work for the Russian occupation forces. The brothers set up their own network of informers in Ukrainian-controlled territory. Under the guise of friendly conversations and correspondence, they obtained information about the deployment of Ukrainian soldiers and mass events in the Kharkiv region.
In early October, the traitors began gathering information about the planned reburial of a dead Ukrainian defender in the village of Groza. While planning the terrorist attack, the attackers realised that civilians would definitely become victims of the rocket attack. There were people who provided information to the accomplices of the Russian terrorists.
After learning the correct address and time of the event, Vladimir Mamon passed the information on to Russian terrorists. The Russians used the information to launch a missile attack on the village using the Iskander-M operational tactical missile system. Dozens of people were killed in the terrorist attack. By the morning of 11 October, the death toll had risen to 55. Three people have not yet been found, so the death toll could rise to 58.
On the basis of the evidence collected, the investigators of the Security Service announced the suspicion of the two defendants under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code. In addition, Vladimir Mamon's criminal acts are additionally qualified under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 438.
