‘Belaruskaia Vyvedka’: Conflict Broke Out Within Lukashenka’s Two Main Intelligence Services

Tensions rose to serious levels.

After the mutual exchange of arrests of the Belarusian KGB and the Operative Analytical Centre of the Presidential Office (OAC) officers, a line of serious tension emerged between both intelligence services. The problem is that the OAC has “sunk” to the level of the KGB and began to duplicate their functions in several directions at once, writes the Belaruskaia Vyvedka Telegram channel.

The top security officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the KGB have strong opinions that the OAC has turned into an “order desk” for “resolving issues” in the field of entrepreneurial activity (eliminating competitors, developing businessmen and businesses to order, etc.). The KGB was jealous of this and a sharp confrontation broke out.

Lukashenka held a meeting with Andrei Pavliuchenka (the OAC boss) and ordered to “separate” the operational functions of both intelligence services as soon as possible and strengthen the OAC in terms of electronic intelligence. In essence, the OAC should turn only into an IT intelligence service and no longer duplicate the operational functions of the KGB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs

They were ordered to search for particularly significant operational information, mainly using electronic tracking and control tools. For this purpose, additional funding will be allocated from the budget for the purchase of appropriate special equipment in China.
