The British Prime Minister called the President of Ukraine at four o'clock in the morning.
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson gave an interview to NV, and described his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at four in the morning on the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion.
“I remember well the conversation with Vladimir Zelensky on the day of the Russian invasion. It was at dawn, perhaps four o'clock in the morning. I immediately called him and told him it was terrible. I was shocked, but he was very brave and very calm. Then I simply told him that we would be on the side of Ukraine and were ready to do everything possible to help him and his people,” Mr Johnson said in an interview with NV.
He added that he was very glad that the UK managed to provide Ukraine with anti-tank missile systems before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. It was extremely useful in the early days of the war.
“We tried to give as much as we could, as soon as possible. And this should become a slogan for all of us in the future,” the former British Prime Minister said.
