The spokesman for Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, issued a strange statement about the “new president of the Russian Federation.”

During an interview with the student news channel MGIMO 360, Peskov was asked what the next president of the Russian Federation after Putin should be like.

“The same. Or different, but the same,” he answered.

Peskov's statement was made against the backdrop of rumors about Putin's death and his replacement in the public space with a double.

At the same time, Peskov noted that Putin has not yet announced his intention to run in the upcoming elections.

“But I sincerely want to believe that he will do it. I have no doubt that he will win the elections, I have no doubt that he will continue to be our president. And then we’ll see,” Peskov said.
