Ukraine Allows Selling Frozen Belarusian Rubles

This can be done before the end of 2024.

In Ukraine, until the end of 2024, it was allowed to sell Belarusian and Russian rubles in non-cash form from accounts in resident banks through non-Russian and non-sanctioned banks until the end of 2024, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

During the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on November 22, Ukrainian deputies supported the corresponding amendment, which allows, until December 31, 2024, a one-time sale of Russian and Belarusian rubles in non-cash form from accounts in resident banks that were frozen with the onset of full-scale aggression, through non-Russian and non-sanctioned banks .

“When publishing the law for the second reading, consultations were held with the National Bank. The amendment concerns Ukrainian taxpayers who have accounts in rubles that are blocked. We allow them to be sold one-time, receive hryvnias and use this money for economic activities, to pay taxes,” said MP Andriy Motovilovets before voting in the Rada.
