Political Scientist: Arrest Warrants For Shoigu And Gerasimov Are Ready To Be Issued

There is a “surprise” for the leaders of the war against Ukraine.

There are talks that the International Criminal Court in The Hague has prepared arrest warrants for Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov. Russian political scientist and Doctor of Historical Sciences Valery Solovey said about it to Dmitry Gordon, the founder of the gordonua.com online media source.

“There is a rumour that two warrants have been prepared at the same time: against Shoigu and against Valery Gerasimov. We can only guess about whether it's true or not, it was not publicly announced,” Dr Solovey said.

The scientist, referring to the opinion of the sources close to the issue, stressed that the fact of making the warrant does not mean that the documents will finally be issued and announced.

As an example, he spoke about the situation with the warrant issued by the ICC for the arrest of the president of the occupying country, Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the scientist, information about the preparation of such an order appeared several months ago.

Dr Solovey, referring to his own sources, claims that the Russian leader was persuaded to the last to stop the aggression against Ukraine, offering various options. And only when "everyone tired" of Putin, they publicly issued the warrant, although this probably could not have happened.
