China Blockades Taiwan

Navy and aviation are involved.

The Chinese Armed Forces staged large-scale military drills around Taiwan. They are training to blockade the island state. UNIAN reports with reference to the Ministry of National Defense People's Republic of China.

It is noted that on August 19, the command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) launched the naval and air forces joint operations for "combat-ready patrols and exercises" around Taiwan.

The drills included destroyer and frigate class crafts, as well as missile boats, early warning aircraft, jamming aircraft, fighter jets and land-based missile troops.

“Concentrating on the issues of coordination of fleet and aircraft, control on the battlefields, etc. The drills tested the combat capabilities of the troops in joint actions. (...) Troops arrived in the maritime and airspace around the island of Taiwan as planned, carried out three-dimensional and long-term deterrence in many directions, and surrounded the island from all directions,” the Chinese MoD reported.
