Russian Propaganda Claims ‘Luna-25 Mission Was Successful’

In the final programs, no more than a minute was devoted to the failure of the Russian cosmonautics.

In the final programs of NTV and Channel 5, not a word was said about the fact that the first Russian lunar mission in many years ended in failure. In the Sunday issue of “Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” they also did not notice the fall of Luna-25, but discussed Biden’s health, writes the Telegram channel “We Can Explain.”

Channel 1 devoted only 39 seconds to a failed project for 6 billion rubles in its final program. Presenter Ekaterina Andreeva read out a message from Roscosmos about the accident and that was all. The week before, Channel 1 talked about the Luna-25 mission for almost 9 minutes.

Vesti on Rossiya-1 dedicated a minute and 13 seconds to the story of the crash of Luna-25. At the same time, Channel Two convinced the audience that the mission had not failed, since the space station flew to the satellite, transmitted unique footage, and also collected a lot of valuable scientific information.

Evgeny Rozhkov, host of the Sunday Vesti, explained the success of the expedition to viewers in this way: “The station successfully covered the entire path, which is more than three hundred thousand kilometers, and took a lot of rare pictures of both the Earth and the Moon itself.
