Ukrainian Forces Entrapped Enemy At Frontline

Ukrainian Forces Entrapped Enemy At Frontline

Russian troops fled from their positions near Robotyne and Verbove.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out counteroffensive operations in the east and on the border of the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, achieving tactically important successes near Robotyne and in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The daily report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reads.

The invaders carried out offensive operations near Kreminna, Bakhmut and on the Avdiivka-Donetsk line, and advanced near Bakhmut. Russian milbloggers still claim that their troops lack weapons and their morale is extremely low along the entire front line. In the meantime, the Russian MoD is creating new combat groups, possibly to transfer more combat-ready troops now defending in the Kherson region to more important sectors of the front.

Kharkiv and Luhansk Regions

Ukrainian officials reported that the enemy was conducting unsuccessful offensive operations at Kremennaya, Belogorivka and in the Serebryansky forest area.

Ukrainian forces reportedly continued offensive operations on the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line on August 21 and reportedly made minor advances. Ukrainian Severodonetsk City Administration Head Roman Vlasenko stated that Ukrainian forces had unspecified successes in the Kreminna area.

A Russian milblogger claimed that Ukrainian forces made tactical gains near Novoselivske and in the Serebrianske forest.

Donetsk Region

On August 21, the invaders advanced in the Bakhmut area. Geolocated footage published on August 20 indicates that Russian forces advanced northwest of Klishchiivka.

The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Klishchiivka and Kurdyumivka. Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar reported that Russian forces are attempting to restore lost positions on Bakhmut’s northern flank near Zaliznyanske, Vasylivka and Bohdanivka.

Malyar added that over the past week, our soldiers have liberated three square kilometers in the Bakhmut direction and hold the dominant heights on the northern flank of Bakhmut, trapping Russian forces.

The invaders unsuccessfully tried to advance in the direction of Avdiivka, as well as near Marinka and Novomykhailivka. The enemy MoD claimed that Ukrainian troops were conducting offensive operations along the Avdiivka-Donetsk line on 21 August.

Southern Axis

On August 21, Ukrainian forces advanced to central Robotyne and east of the settlement in the western Zaporizhia region. The success to the east of this settlement probably indicates that the Ukrainian forces have overcome the Russian fortifications in the area.

Hanna Malyar reported that Ukrainian forces conducted successful operations in the direction southeast of Robotyne and south of Mala Tokmachka. The Russians unsuccessfully tried to regain their lost positions east of Robotyne, where hostilities continue.

Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces intensified attacks on the Robotyne-Verbove line and there is heavy fighting in the center of Robotyne. The Russian Voenkor reported that Ukrainian forces intensified attacks on the Robotyne-Verbove gaining control of part of the Russian defence lines at the front. Some Russian sources claimed that the Russian troops left several positions in the Verbove area.

Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian forces continued to carry out raids on the islands in the Dnipro River delta and on the east (left) bank Kherson region.

The enemy continues to face challenges with logistics and intensifies security measures in Crimea that are likely slowing Russian logistics in southern Ukraine.
