Destruction Of Russian A-50 And Il-22: Young Officers And Colonel Were On Board

The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that he was surprised after the destruction of enemy aircraft.

On Monday, January 22, the speaker of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, said that there were young officers and a colonel on the boards of the downed A-50 and IL-22, New Voice writes.

"I have already looked at the posts in their publics under names like ‘eternal flight, brothers’, where obituaries are already appearing gradually. We see that there was a colonel there. But first of all, young officers," he said on the air of the telethon.

According to Ihnat, he was “even surprised, to be honest, that the junior lieutenants were on boards of these planes.”

"In any case, it is a loss, even young officers, graduates of a military university, where they study for five years. Also, they had several more years of practice in troops and had combat experience for at least almost two years, unfortunately, in combat operations. We are talking about the A-50, as well as the IL-22. There, two boards were destroyed," he said.

The speaker added that they had fewer planes, and also fewer crews.
